Boxtown is an indie-animated pilot created by Charlie Gavin, a storyboard artist and writer on shows such as Jellystone, Big City Greens, Strange Planet. The series and character originated in a webcomic he created as a teenager. In 2020, the project was revived as a pitch bible that was intended to be shown to studios. However, after animation the industry took a sharp turn away from originals, the team decided to develop it as an independent web series instead.
